The story

It was the first day of school. All the students of Vidya Valley School were happy to see
each other and were happily chatting away while all the seventh graders were anxious to know
which class they were in. No one wanted to go in Mr. Vivek's class. He was a 50 year old
Stegosaurus (a dinosaur of the late Jurassic period) who was rough and was very rude and he
thought he was right and the others were wrong. He was very, very harsh. Only one boy was not
scared to go in his class. He thought it would be a great experience to go in his class. His name was
Ashwin. He was a true intellectual. He was good in academics.
He was the only one to go in Mr. Vivek's class out of all his friends. They wished him best
luck, he wished them too. He was the smartest of all his classmates, but unfortunately his teacher
thought,' Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, he looks really dumb. He will be my next victim' and he gave out an evil laugh (in his mind).
In math class Ashwin was very excited because it was his favourite subject. In the class Mr.
Vivek starts with calling upon everyone and asking dodging tables. While he was asking upon a
child, Ashwin was listening carefully to what the answers were. Mr. Vivek was asking Deepak the
tables he gave all wrong answers and Ashwin interrupted and said,' sorry but he gave all wrong
answers'. Mr. Vivek said that he knew what he was doing and shouted at him and asked him some
questions. He got all answers right but Mr. Vivek said that the answers were wrong and he did not
have to tell him what to do. He punished him and told him to stand on the table until the end of the
day. He felt really ashamed.
When he told his friends about his incident they all went to the principal. The principal
said,' what can we do? We are all afraid of him. Once when I tried to terminate him he started to
not attend meetings and started to ignore us for three months because the notice we gave him was
for three months. We had to take back the termination letter'. After that the principal started
weeping.
The children gave up all hope and went out of the office.
On the way home, Ashwin was really tired and sad. He was also very angry and he was
raging with fury like an hungry tyrannosaurus. He went home and told his mother what had
happened in school. His mother said that Mr. Vivek will improve later on and he will get the chance
to improve him.
When he was going to the market to buy vegetables for his mom, he met his friends. They
asked him what his mother said to him.
'Mr. Vivek will improve and you will improve him', he said tauntingly.
'I feel the same', said one of his friends.
Then they all went their own way.
That night Ashwin could not sleep as he kept thinking of what his friend and mother had
said.
The next day everything went well. His teacher did not say anything and he did not get a
punishment. He also had a good night's sleep. A few weeks passed and everything was well when
one day in social studies class..............
'so kids, the sun rises in the west and sets in the east'
'sir you have said it the wrong way', said Ashwin and the whole class started laughing.
'I finally got even', thought Ashwin.
Mr. Vivek was full of shame and anger. The next moment he called upon Ashwin and he was
whipped. He was whipped so hard that he had to go to the nurse and he was bleeding a lot. He even
had to stay back.
In English class, the next day, the students were told to write a story on defying
expectations. They told to generate some ideas for their story. Ashwin is unable to generate ideas.
He always had ideas but this time he could not generate ideas as he wanted to write a realistic story
which is easy to understand and easy to believe. When he went home he asked his mother for ideas.
His mother was also unable to think of any ideas. That night he kept on thinking about some ideas
for the story. Suddenly he got an idea for his story and also to seek revenge from Mr. Vivek.
The next day all three students had to start their story. Everyone was asking each other what they are going to do for their story.
'what are you doing for your story Ashwin '?
'I am not telling anyone, but I guarantee that you all will like it'. He smiled and went away.
When he went home, his mother asked him what happened in school.
'nothing much', he answered. I have a perfect plan to get a revenge and it is a perfect
defying expectations story.
' aaaahhh what a lovely idea but I am afraid he will punish you again'.
'I'm not afraid of him anymore, nor his punishments he has made me strong and I forgot
to tell you, see I won three gold medals for sports day this year. It was very tough. Lucky Mr. Vivek
has made me strong and I won the medals. The first time I won something in sports'.
'I'm really happy I think I should make something good today'.
'what mommy, it's just three medals, '.
'your dad got promotion in office as well'.
'wow that means that dad got a promotion in office and I got a promotion in school'.
That night everyone was happy but after Ashwin slept, his parents argued about letting
him write the story against Mr. Vivek. After all the noise Ashwin woke up and when he got to know
the reason for the argument he told his dad that it will be fine and writes the story the next day.
On the submission day the teacher thought that Ashwin's story would be the worst and he
decided to read his story loudly in At the end of the story the whole class was very quiet and in a shock that he had dared to
write such a story against Mr. Vivek. Mr. Vivek was the first to revive from the shock and he was also the first one to clap for him. Then the others started clapping.
After school Mr. Vivek read the story again and again. He thought,'the whole story was true so according to the story and in order to make it completely true, I should improve'
He did improve and he improved so much that he was now not the least favourite teacher
of all students but the most favourite. He also won prizes for being the best teacher and for being
the most improved teacher later on.
On the last day of school everyone thanked Ashwin because now no one was scared of Mr.
Vivek any more. Mr. Vivek also called him and thanked him.
In the summer vacation Ashwin again met Mr. Vivek on the way to the market in the
forest. They were happily chatting when suddenly they smelled a smell of stale meat surrounding
them. They could feel the ground shaking and they heard a deafening roar of a T Rex. They saw a
shadow of the evil monster and then let out a shriek of terror. When the monster bent down to eat
them, Ashwin jumped and blinded the monster with the spikes at the back of his tail. The monster
shrieked and fell to the floor. Mr. Vivek thanked him a lot and then they went their own way.

Note: the story you read just now is also the story Ashwin wrote for his defying expectations assessment.
